Solar Panel Voltage in the Cold Check
Panel voltage goes up in the cold. Make sure it stays under your controller limit.
A panel's open-circuit voltage (Voc) rises as it gets colder. Series panels add their Voc together. This checks the cold-morning total against your controller's limit. Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

How it was worked out
What this does and doesn't tell you
- Use the coldest morning you expect where you camp, not the average.
- Panels wired in parallel do not add voltage, but they do add current. Check the controller's current limit too.
- Work on 240V AC wiring, including inverter outputs and mains inlets, must be done by a licensed electrician. For high-current DC gear, follow the maker's installation manual and have an auto electrician check your work if you're unsure.
